Common Concerns for Adults Under 40

At some point in your life, you will probably experience a Root Canal.  Cavities are bound to happen, but sometimes the cavity is just to deep to be fixed.  A lot of times we push off having cavities filled because of time or finances, but in reality, both are better than having to have a root canal.  A root canal will treat problems of the tooth’s soft core, also known as dental pulp.  The dental pulp has blood vessels and nerves, which run like a thread down into the root.  The tissue will die when it’s infected or injured, and if it’s not removed, your tooth will get infected and it might die, causing you to lose the tooth.  During a root canal, the dentist will remove the pulp, and then he or she will clean and seal off the root canal to protect it.  Usually a crown is placed over the tooth to help make it stronger and also to provide protection.

If your teeth hurt when hot or cold food/drink touches them, you may have sensitive teeth.  It is very common and happens when you have cavities, fractured teeth, worn fillings, gum disease, worn tooth enamel, or exposed roots.

This can be treated.  A lot of times your dentist will recommend you switch to a desensitizing toothpaste and if that doesn’t work, he or she may recommend treatment based on what’s causing the sensitivity.     Root Canal Linwood NJ 08221

As we age, a lot of times we want our teeth to be whitened to help brighten our smile.  Ask your dentist what he recommends before using any whitening products.  Your teeth and gums need to be healthy before you undergo any whitening procedures. Root Canal Linwood NJ 08221
